"Rock Of Mages" was written, recorded, and released over 4 days in April 2006 for the game "Titan Quest." We were asked to contribute a song for use in the games closing titles and appropriated Scott Morton's theme that is prominently featured in the game. Knowing only that we wanted to write a song similar to Metallica's "Orion," we set about recording while also writing as we went along. 4 days later we all had crushing hangovers, bad attitudes, and perhaps the first nagging regret for putting together such a logistically challenging band. We met Pete McCarthy for the first time at the vocal recording session for this song, which began with no lyrics or vocals written. They were written on the spot when Steve Trombley suggested that we needed a "battle cry" ... and that was that.

It's hard to pick a favourite track. This is the only album i have so far deemed as "perfect", where every track, even the intro, is just a masterpiece in its own right. From the hard hitting Perturbator's Theme to the emotional title track, its 68 minutes of perfection. 10/10. connivingkhajiit
